Turn off (some) electrical system error checks
In which we risk offending our Electrical Engineering colleagues
This very simple model gives errors:
because frequency and voltage were not specified.
This one gives the same two errors AND a warning:
because the PHEL (“Phase shift between voltage and current) was not given in the Comp 33:
What if you don’t know what the voltage or current or phase shift are, or you don’t care because they’re not relevant?
You should rarely ignore warnings, and NEVER ignore errors. But you can turn off this type of error and warning messages.
How to do this
Ebsilon main menu… Extras… Model Options (or the red gear)… Simulation… Iteration… and then set “Report errors in the system of equations also for shafts and electrical lines” to No. This can be set only at the model-level, not for the Ebsilon application as a whole.
I was reading the comments to this YouTube video, where I saw this suggestion given by Detlef Günzel of Iqony. (That video is part of a playlist made up of all the video tutorials that are installed with Ebsilon).
